How to Get 4000 watch time on YouTube

How To Become A Successful YouTuber

Today we are going to be discussing on how to be a successful YouTuber. If you are struggling with 4000 public watch time as a new YouTuber, you have to read context carefully to the end because you are going to be getting useful tips in this lesson which is going to help you grow your channel. Alright, the major thing we are going to be talking about is algorithm.

What is algorithm?

Algorithm are signals, data, and rules which governs the platform's operation. So when we talk about the YouTube algorithm, it's simply rules, signals, and data which governs the YouTube platform. Now this algorithm determines how videos are being filtered, ranked, selected, and recommended for users. This algorithm in some ways influences and determines what we see on social media.

Let's take for instance so that you will understand how this YouTube algorithm works. If you open the YouTube platform, you search on how to repair a hard disk. If that's your first time watching videos about a computer and its software or hardware, you search on how to repair a hard disk. When you close the platform or refresh it, it will suggest more videos for you on how to repair a hard disk and also some other computer components if you watch the video for some length, then it will know that this is what you are searching for. It will suggest more videos of that kind to you. So this is the YouTube algorithm.

How to make the Algorithm friendly

Now, as a content creator, if you want to be successful on YouTube, if you want to get 4,000 public watch time on YouTube, you must make the algorithm your friend. So the question now is how do you make the algorithm your friend?

If you want the algorithm to be your friend, there are some practices which you must avoid on the platforms. Basically the YouTube platforms, there are some things you must avoid doing so that the algorithm will favor you. Hence, the algorithm determines which video is ranked high and which video is being suggested. You must make the algorithm your friend for you to be successful.

Avoid Deceiving your viewers

Now, what are the things that you need to avoid on YouTube? One of the basic things you must avoid doing as a content creator is deceiving your viewers. If you post a video, and you write a thumbnail and a description with a title that is totally different not in any way related to the content you posted. You are deceiving your viewers. And this will confuse the algorithm. Because people who click on the video, they will skip it. They will not watch the video at length. So the algorithm will understand that people are clicking that video but they don't like it, your video will not be ranked high, and it will not be suggested.

So if you want the algorithm to be your friend, avoid deceiving your viewers. When you post a video, let your thumbnail, your title, your description be related to the content you are posting.

Do not invite Subscriber who has No Interest in your content

So having said that, another thing you must avoid doing if you want the algorithm to be your friend is, do not invite people who has no interest in your content to subscribe to your channel. Do not invite people who has no interest in the kind of content you are creating to subscribe to your channel. This will harm your channel. Do not do it. When you invite someone to subscribe to your channel and the person has no interest in the kind of content you are creating, when you post a video, they will see the thumbnail but they will not click on it. This affects your impression click through rate.

Increase your Impression click-through rate

Someone in one of my last video asked a question on how to increase impression click through rate. If you want to increase your impression click through rate, if you want your impression click through rate to be high, avoid inviting people who do not have interest in your content to subscribe to your channel. They are going to harm your channel impression click through rate. As we all know that impression click-through rate and watch time determines which video will be ranked high.

So avoid destroying your channel with people who has no interest in your content. So another thing that might as well, that will as well affect your impression click-through rate is poor title, poor description poor thumbnail. You see these ratings I mentioned, the thumbnail, the description and the title are the key factors that determines if someone would click your channel.

They must be like a magnet to attract viewers. But make sure they are related to the video you posted.
Now having said that, avoid inviting people who has no interest in your content to subscribe to your channel.

Do not post different niche in a single YouTube channel

Another thing you must not do is posting different niche in a single YouTube channel.

This will confuse the algorithm the more. If your channel is for sports Let the videos, all the videos you are going to post on your channel be about sports. Don't be posting about sports and be posting about a let's say comedy in a in the same channel. The algorithm will not be your friend.

The algorithm needs to understand what your channel is all about so that it will suggest it to more people. The algorithm needs to understand what your channel is all about so that it will suggest it to more people. Do not confuse the algorithm by posting different niche in one channel.

Build a Community on YouTube

Now another practice you must do to make the algorithm be your friend is building a community on YouTube. Now how do you build a community on YouTube? If you want to build a community on YouTube, you must be communicating with your viewers. Replying to comments. This is a simple way of building a community. Replying to comments will increase the engagement in your video.

If you posted a video and I watched it, I dropped a comment on that video. When you reply to that comment, it will bring me back to your channel. If you post a video and I dropped a comment on that video, you reply to my comment, it will bring me back to your channel. This is a way of creating engagement on your video in your channel. So if you want the algorithm to be your friend, you should build a community on YouTube.

So these are the ways to build your YouTube channel for you to be a successful YouTuber.

New YouTubers Avoid this Mistake

Now, one last thing for the new content creators, this is one mistake almost every new creator makes this mistake.

This mistake I am going to talk about now is comparing your new channel with a channel that has been there for decades. This is a wrong practice and this has made a lot of people to give up. You can come on the platform, make research on people from the same niche you are, make some research, find out the trending topics, jump into those topics but do not compare your new channel with a channel that has been there for decades.

When you start comparing your channel engagement, your channel performance with the performance of a channel that has been there for decades, it's going to bring down your spirit and this has made some people to give up on their dream.

So avoid comparing your channel's performance with a channel that has been there for decades. They started where you are starting now. All you need to do is put in the best practices and do not be too anxious of the results. A single video can change the story. So you have to avoid shortcuts. You know, most new YouTubers want a shortcut. They want to start it today and make it today. Those channels you are looking up to, those channels you are comparing your new channel with, they started where you are starting today.

So, you must understand that YouTube is a long run and you must follow the rules. Following shortcuts will harm your channel. Following shortcuts will make the algorithm to be against your channel. So try and stick to these rules which I have made known to you now. Please if you have not yet subscribed to my channel, hit the subscribe button and turn on the notification bell so that I will see you in the next video.
