so longer videos can help you increase your public watch hour provided the video
is okay I mean the content is super powerful like to keep your audience engaged
watching it for a longer time it doesn't mean like getting videos that are not
interested and uh you just make it longer no it doesn't work that way you must
make sure that your video Was watching that people will get interested in
watching it then let it be longer than just being 3 minutes if you want to get
your 4,000 watch hours easily like if you check this video you see that the
impression click through rate of this video is 9% and it has 4,000 Impressions
so you see here from Impressions you have 500 watch hours now if you check the
engagement of this video you see that the engagement is 1 hour 27 minutes yeah
this is very okay that will lead to a very high watch hour and also help
YouTube to suggest it more because for your video to be suggested more you need
to increase your public watch hour and your impression click through rate that
will determine the rate at which YouTube will suggest your
content yeah I'm just
trying to teach you something from experience because I did this in Jerry house
design and it also worked there and I have also done it for some friends and
it's also worked now look at this this particular video here this video is 15
minutes now let's check the analysis of it 497 hours this particular video got
me 497 hours yeah because the content is okay people like it and when they
click on it they watch it at least more than half of the video to watch it
let's check the engagement okay this is 27 minutes the engagement is also okay
so it's not about just making your videos longer it's about making the content
also impressive for people to watch like you make them fall in love with the
content and they like to watch it to the end if not making it just long will
not help so you should make content that are a bit longer than just being 2
minutes some channels will upload only short videos and before you know it they
get subscribers completed but they still struggle with watch hour so that is
one of the reason why they struggle with watch hour because they do not upload
longer videos now let me tell you something about longer videos longer videos
usually have the chance of YouTube suggesting it on homepage not just on watch
page only but shorter videos can uh can be shown on watch page only you hardly
see it on home page like if you check YouTube suggesting this particular video
you see that 21% of each suggestion is on homepage I hope you know what
homepage is let me uh let me show you what it means uh like when someone enters
YouTube the feed there is home homepage but why playing a video the video that
come by the side that is uh watch page let me show you like this my recent uh
video sorry if you see here you see home okay like this is home once you enter YouTube
that is the home then up next that is the watch page so longer videos have the
chance of YouTube suggesting it on home even if the person did not SE for your
content the person will just log to YouTube and uh it will appear there so if
uh the person like the video the person will watch it and that will increase
your public watch hour so one of the
tips to get uh to get 4,000 public watch hour easily is by uploading longer
videos longer videos and you can see this particular video is 6 minutes long and
it has 1,57 4 views only B 59 watch hour is also okay but it can you can't
compare it with the longer videos I uploaded although this the last uh last
video I uploaded that's the last video here so uploading longer videos will
help you increase your public watch hour hence the video hence the video is
okay for people to watch hence you are not just putting things together to just
make it longer hence the content is okay and people enjoy it they watch it to
the end and it will increase your public watch hour look at this particular
video here is 190 hours 190 hours 6.7 impression click to rate okay now let me
show you something else you should also consider while loading your videos if
you want to want your video to be R High on YouTube search you should uh make
sure that your description is okay you put the necessary tax do not just put
tags that are irrelevant to the video put tags that are in line with the video

YouTube suggest your video is your description your descriptions explains what
that video is all about so while you upload your video you should make sure
that the content of that video you have explained part of it at the description

features then with time frame that is Chapters to your to your video so that
someone who cares to just watch the bedrooms can click on the chapter and just
watch the bedroom the third bedroom the bathroom the back so add chapters to
your video also matters a lot don't forget to add link of some other videos to
your to your description it will also help YouTube to suggest other of your
videos along with the particular one someone is watching like most times I do
add tax to the description that doesn't mean I won't add it to the normal Place
tax are been added all right when you're uploading your video These tags make
sure that they are relevant to the video you are uploading you don't upload a
video or something else and the tag is saying something different they must be
incline the ranking for these tags are still loading my
network is a bit slow it's not that fast

three bedroom room because this house is a three bedroom house 30 square m this
house is a 30 square m so when these things are when these tags are relevant to
these videos when this tag Mark descending at this video it will help YouTube
to suggest your content the more so you make sure that you add relevant tax to
your uh videos it helps to increase the suggestion of those videos like when

3,400 views yes as of recent YouTube suggested this video very high like a
single day it was getting over 400 views and the people that viewed it were engaged
with the with the video you can see the average view duration 2 minutes a video
of 3 minutes the average view is 2 minutes it's very okay so that was why this
video was able to rank high so it's not just about having longer videos if your
videos are not interesting people will skip it so make sure you are creating
content that people will enjoy watching it doesn't matter how long it is but if
it can be long then the better but if you can't keep people engaged watching
that much long then make it short you understand they make it short but if you
can still get them engaged watching for a longer time it is more better that

thumbnail and a description with a title that is totally different not in any
way related to the content you posted you are deceiving your viewers and this
will confuse the AL gorithm there was people who click on the video they will
skip it they will not watch the video at length so the agor reading will
understand that people are clicking that video but they don't like it your
video will not be ranked High it will not be suggested so if you want the Aging
to be your friend avoid deceiving your viewers when you post a video let your
thumbnail your title your description be related to the content you are posting
so having said that another thing you must avoid doing if you want the
algorithm to be your friend is do not invite people who has no interest in your
content to subscribe to your
channel do not invite people who has no interest in the kind
of content you are creating to subscribe to your channel this will harm your
channel do not do
it when you invite someone to subscribe to your channel and
the person has no interest in the kind of content you are creating when you
post a video they will see the thumbnail but they will not click on it now this
affects your impression click through rate someone in one of my last video asked

through rate to be high avoid inviting people who do not have interest in your
content to subscribe to your channel they are going to har your channel

rate and watch time determines which video will be ranked high so avoid

rate is poor title poor description and poor thumbnail you see these three
things I mentioned the thumbnail the description and the title are the key
factors that determines if someone will click your channel they must be like a
magnet to attract viewers but make sure they are related to the video you
posted now having said that avoid inviting people who has no interest in your
content to subscribe to your channel now another thing you must not do is
posting different niche in a single YouTube channel this will confuse the
algorithm the more if your channel is for sports let the videos all the videos
you are going to post on your channel be about sports don't be posting about
sports and be posting about let's say comedy in a in the same channel the AG
reading will not be your friend the algorithm needs to understand what your
channel is all about so that it will suggest it to more

way of creating engagement on your video in your

all right let's get into the video first we are going to discuss how to check if your watch time is counting these are the things we are going to discuss in this video how to check if your watch time is counting how to troubleshoot common watchtime problems and how to contact YouTube support if you are still having problems so these are the you should be expecting to know in this video first let's start with what causes watch time not to count there are two main factors that can affect your watch time not to count one of the factors is that your video is not public if your video is not public your the watch times you get will not count to the eligible public watch time which is one of the criterias you need to hit for you to get into the YouTube partnership so if your video is not uh public it will not count to the public watch time and another thing is if your video is too short it will still not count into the public uh watch hour uh you can be seeing views and uh watch time in the analysis uh tab but it will not be counting to the eligible public watch hour so these are the factors that cause watch time not to be increasing and another thing is uh invalid traffic yes invalid traffic can as well cause your watch time not to be increasing yes because if you're having invalid uh traffic on your channel you will see the watch time in the tab then maybe the next day it will still clear now let's uh talk on how to prevent watch time from Counting how to prevent watch time from Counting first you have to make sure your video is public like I said earlier that's one of the reasons that your watch time will not be eligible make sure that your video is not uh uh unlisted or private make sure it's a public video while publishing it even if you've published it already you can still go to the edictor and uh change it to public so that's one thing and then another thing to consider is your video should be long video not in the short tab it shouldn't be a short video short videos are not uh eligible for meeting the public watch hours so if your video is uh uh less than 10 seconds or short or below 3 minutes you know recently YouTube has uh updated this policy uh starting from the 15th of uh October 2024 videos Less Than 3 minutes which are in vertical form or Square ratio or resolution will be in the short categories so videos which you post after 15th of October if it is vertical the resolution if it's a vertical or Square it will be in the short tab so the watch time you get in that video will not be eligible it will not count in the public watch time so this is one thing you should consider but mind you the videos which you uploaded earlier before 15th of October it will not be uped it will still remain as a long-term uh video so those ones are eligible but on or after 15th of October 2024 videos which you upload in the vertical Ratio or Square ratio which is 3 minutes or less than 3 minutes will be in the short tab so it will not be eligible but you'll be seeing watch times in your analysis board and you it will not count to your public watch time so these are the factors that cause uh your watch time not to increase now another thing for you to bear in mind is that uh YouTube usually take few days to process your watch time before it will get to the uh public watch time so it can be seen those uh those watch time in the tab but in the analysis tab Bo it will not uh count in the uh public watch time yeah gauge instantly so sometimes it takes 6 days or more but it will always show you the last time it was updated so for new channels so this is one thing you should do if you want to know if your watch time is increasing or is not increasing when you go to your when you go to your YouTube Studio you can check the last time your video was updated your watch time and subscribers and everything was updated you can check the time I mean the date check the date and write down note down the figure which you had on that day which it was last updated because if your channel is not getting much uh watch time within a week so when you come back next time you might forget the figure it was the last time you checked so just note down the date and uh the amount the number of public watch time you have already so at the next time you come to check if it has been updated you will know if it's increasing or it's not increasing because I believe this is one of the reasons some new YouTubers say that their watch time is not increasing because before you come back to Jak the update you forgotten the figure you had earlier this is one of my channels so you can see what is written here we carefully validate each Channel engagement matrix before they are displayed here this process may take several days to complete and may vary from what you see elsewhere such as YouTube analysis so it takes several days for this process to be completed for them to validate your Tel uh watch time so all you have to do is note the last time it was updated then write down the figure uh you got by that date so that when next you come you will be able to know if it is increasing or not now having said that another thing to discuss here now is how to get help with watch time not counting first if uh after checking and uh you are very sure that your watch time is not uh increasing you can visit the YouTube help center so after that you can still contact the YouTube support from the YouTube tab from your studio tab you can contact the YouTube support and uh tell them the issue you're facing on your channel
